Call windows decide how Doorkeep handles calls at each time of day: when it tries to reach a person, and when it takes a message. Emergency handling can't be switched off, whatever you choose here.
Open your call windows
Go to Assistant.
On the Call windows card, click Edit.
Only an account owner can change call windows. Changes apply to the next call.
Choose a time shape
Under Time shape, pick one:
One setup: the same handling around the clock.
Days vs. nights: one behavior during open hours, another after hours.
Custom: your own windows, with a behavior for each.
Each window shows its days and hours, its Behavior, and Who picks up. All other times is the catch-all: it covers every hour your other windows do not.
Pick a behavior for a window
Click the window's behavior.
Choose Reach a person or Message only.
Reach a person rings your Call List for emergencies, leasing, and complaints. General questions take a message, and so does any call where no one answers.
Message only takes a detailed message for everything else and notifies you based on your notification settings. There is no live ring for those calls.
On both, situations on your escalation list ring your Call List, and emergency handling can't be switched off. To see how a behavior treats each kind of call, open Call types.
Choose who picks up
Click the window's Who picks up.
Choose the Call List for that window. Each list rings its people in order, and a message is taken if no one answers.
Most teams only need one list. A second Call List, and more than one person on a list, are on Professional. Starter rings one person.
Set the operating timezone
Under Operating timezone, choose the timezone your windows and business hours run on. If your hours look right but calls are handled as after hours, check this first.
