Doorkeep is built specifically for residential property management. Not general small business, not medical offices, not restaurants. The agent understands lockouts, maintenance intake, leasing inquiries, and after-hours emergencies because those are the only kinds of calls it was designed around.
Who it works well for
Most Doorkeep accounts are small to mid-size portfolios, from a handful of doors up to a few hundred. The common thread is not size, it is that one or two people are personally absorbing every inbound call, including nights and weekends, and that is not sustainable.
If any of these describe you, Doorkeep is likely a fit:
You are the after-hours phone, and you would like to not be
Calls go to voicemail during showings, and prospects do not leave one
You cannot tell which of last night's calls actually needed you
You want a record of every call without having to write anything down
Where it is honestly not the right tool
We would rather tell you now than three weeks into a trial:
You need AppFolio. Doorkeep does not support AppFolio and it is not on the near-term roadmap.
A meaningful share of your callers speak Spanish. The agent is English only today.
You want the agent to dispatch vendors or authorize repairs. Doorkeep captures and routes maintenance requests. It does not dispatch, schedule, or approve work.
You want outbound calling. Doorkeep answers inbound calls only.
You want a texting platform. Doorkeep is a phone agent. It does not handle general two-way SMS.
If you are somewhere in between and not sure, the fastest way to find out is to call the demo line and listen to how the agent handles a call, or talk to us directly.
