The most common question before signing up is whether tenants have to learn a new number. They do not.
You keep your existing number
Doorkeep gives you a dedicated Doorkeep number, but your tenants never need to know it exists. You set up call forwarding on the line they already dial, and those calls arrive at Doorkeep.
Forwarding is something you control, and you can switch it back at any time. See Forward your calls to Doorkeep for the step by step.
You choose when Doorkeep answers
Forward everything, or only forward outside office hours. A lot of property managers start with after-hours coverage, get comfortable with how the agent handles calls, and widen from there.
What setup involves
Add your properties and the details the agent should know about each one.
Set your greeting so callers hear your company name.
Set your escalation contacts and when each of them should be reached.
Forward your line.
No hardware, no phone system migration, no technical work. Doorkeep runs alongside whatever you already use.
Test before you go live
Ten minutes of calling your own number and playing tenant tells you more than an hour of reading settings. Do this before you forward your main line. See Make test calls before you go live.
Want help doing it

Doorkeep currently supports U.S. phone numbers only.
